30-Aug-2012 ~ Lit Volume vs. Dark Volume - A few samples
The following display breaks apart trades that exchanged hands on the NASDAQ
and NYSE Exchange. It then breaks the volume into trades that occurred on the
"Lit" exchange and those that occurred in "Dark Pools". As
you can see, most shares exchanging hands on NASDAQ are now traded in the dark
pools. The first grouping of stocks are listed on NASDAQ while the second are
listed on the NYSE.
